Atlantic Canada Tour + my top CDN Singles

It's been a real busy summer. I'm starting to feel a bit caught up on life after that crazy 100-day tour across Canada last summer. So, naturally I'm hitting the road again in October with DJ Ducats. Full details below...
  1. CBC: "Shake Ya Caboose is NB's Anthem"

CBC: "Shake Ya Caboose is NB's Anthem"
Thanks to everyone who emailed/facebooked me to let me know about this one...

On the May 5th show of CBC Radio 1's The Point, Peter Anawati, a N.B. network producer picked "Shake Ya Caboose" as his choice for the province's contemporary anthem. You can listen to the audio, by clicking on 'Part 2' here. I'm in good company, as Oscar Peterson was chosen for the Manitoba anthem!

Top 10 Canadian Singles of All Time!
I've known Fredericton's Bob Mersereau's for a long while. He's as big a supporter of music as I've ever known. His Top 100 Canadian Albums book has enjoyed considerable success (you might remember my Shania Twain quote). Now he's compiling the top 100 Canadian Singles of all time, and he asked for my input.

I compiled my top 10 Canadian singles below. I know I'll take some heat for no Hip, Rush, Bryan Adams, The Band, Neil Young, Barenaked Ladies or Leonard Cohen, but I'm sure they'll be well covered by other voters.
  1. Maestro Fresh Wes - Let Your Backbone Slide
  2. The Guess Who - American Woman
  3. Tom Cochrane - Life is a Highway
  4. Rascalz - Northern Touch feat Checkmate, Kardinal Offishall, Thrust and Choclair

  6. Cory Hart - Sunglasses at Night
  7. Stompin Tom - The Hockey Song
  8. Barstool Prophets - Paranoia
